great gear setup but a 55L bag seems big for the lightweight gear you have. I same similar setup and able to put it in a 30L bag for 3 day hikes or 40L back if i'm going for multiday or in cooler weather
Hey Justin great videos, I was wondering if there is a video or could you make one on how to be fit for a thru hike. What kind of training is necessary, how to pace yourself etc thanks and keep up with the great videos
This video helped a lot thanks
!!!
Good realistic list other than no foodbag bearhang, or bearcan. Maybe not included because it's in the extra items/food list. I find it helpful to bring along a pot scrubbie and a buff/microtowel. Nice to see a "regular pack" that is probably quite affordable for beginners that can get you to 12 lbs.
Thanks for sharing.. I learn a lot from you. It’s really nice video…
4:58 some drugs lol?
Here's my 2020 update to this video! Heavier and more comfy! https://youtu.be/Jjv-5i7ACLQ
What about That hat? It’s sick
Nice
Missing some gear. I don’t rely on electronics when I hike and camp. So I carry a map and compass. No gps. Also I carry a note book and pencil. But not taking a knife I find completely foolish. Never leave home with out a knife. I also didn’t see a head lamp with extra batteries.
8:02 The triumph of function over fashion. 😉
I'm razzin' yah, but I do really appreciate your excellent sharing of experience and information for people like me who have little of either. Great video.
Right off the bat already penalized. I have to carry a solar generator/battery and cpap.
That was really helpful. Thanks!
I really need a different sleeping bag. Bought one and it’s so damn large.
Hola- Saludos desde Costa Rica. Nice video. Thanks a lot
I might have to copy your exact set up if I ever hike the AT. Your setup is very simple and efficient. Thank you for sharing.
First backpacker I have found that wears a Tilley, I have 5 of them but wear Sunday Afternoon hat for hiking.
Nice gear Justin, tks 4 share…
12lb.? Nope
Well, as an x-marine, need to say what happen to roughing it when hiking and camping? To much stuff. clothe on your back and change of clothe according to weather. Good one pr. hiking shoes. under garment as needed. food and water and some light weight cooking stove. medical kit always. campers knife and flint to start a fire. no tent just your sleeping bag or blanket . Go as light as possible. check out military hiking gear
