Nice vid. It looked like a lot of stuff, but you fit it all into your kayak easily!
How did you protect your self???????????????????????????????????????????
Courageous woman. ??
Really clever to start with the safety equipment. The Inreach Satellit Com. is still very unknown, but a must if you want to stay in touch with the rescue services and the home front. I have it too, I notice a lot of people haven't heard of it, and go mountaineering or kayaking without enough thoughts about safety. You could also tell people what you have in your First AID Kit. I think your fan's will be interested. 😀
Do you this in written form?
Super useful video!
add a gator patch
May I have the link to your kayak adventure?
Could you please answer what weels do you use? They look nice lightweight and handy
Far too much sugar in the food.
Great video! I suggest carrying a paddle float for self rescue. Just in case….
I'm getting likely a Dagger Zydeco, and I plan to eventually do some overnight trips and I'm scared that i won't have space for gear, plus the kayak doesn't really have a high weight rating
You don't use a compass? Nice movie though.
Nice vid ma'am… your dog is pretty chill tho?
I love how the dog is just chilling the whole time, "I'll just stay here on my comfy bed while you go off and exert yourself for 5 days"
5 gallons of water….gosh I do a 2 day with my girlfriend & rarely use the whole gallon…
After hearing your story in 2018 we decided to buy kayaks and are absolutely loving our time on them. We take them wherever we travel around the country. Y’all are the best.
Very well organised. Ive had my pump ripped off by going head into mild surf, to get ocean bound. My elastics are old.. and the rope i had it on untied ( not secure knot). Those drybags look tough…
For those without wheels, we do 3 or so trips offloading gear , using big polyester shoppingbags or similar. Then carry the kayak on the shoulder, hand in cockpit.
For solo trips, an inflatable paddle float is a must at open sea. Ive done a wet entry and rollled the kayak easily with the paddle float on in open sea.
The doggo isn't part of the load out?
Do you have a video/blog on your trip?
Love the gear, well thought out.
Would love to kayak but would have to pee every five minutes and wear depends" not meant to be mean or rude being serious", wish I would have done this when I was young and healthy
Dang I was hoping you'd show where you were packing all the bags. Nice video
I love the dog
Thank you for your organized walkthrough. A+ video, happy paddling!
Fingertips
Thanks for filming this. It's helpful to see how people are loading out these days. (I'm no spring chicken)
Ok.. and the dog??
Do you think packing your kayak makes it more unstable?
I would highly recommend getting your "leave no trace" certification. its free education
Excellent video! So, is there a video of the Everglades Wilderness Waterway trip? Have always wanted to do it but I'm not as brave as you.
Very helpful ? Where do you put your trolley?
Thanks! I love hearing the logic behind the decisions you make. Whether I opt to follow the same pattern, I learn something valuable every time. Like leaving some band aids in another pack that’s easy to reach. Gloves for salt water. Olives for energy. I love olives! But that never occurred to me!!! One major change I’d make. Put the dog in first. Priorities!!!! ?
Great video, I think videos like these really benefit from having a list of gear in the description (and oftentimes its Amazon Affiliate links, so $$$)
Great tutorial. A pleasure to watch.
This is awesome! I just did my first kayak camping trip in the Smokies. I have a Jackson too! https://youtu.be/iemM56OJXWg
Great video!
Great video i like watching gear load out videos. The only thing i would change is i like to keep my large first aid/trauma kit very accessible i wouldn’t wanna be fumbling around and trying to reach up into that kayak if i had a serious wound and needed my tourniquet.
Um…you left your skirt!
Great, concise video!
I got my dog and I’m bringing him with me
Those watershed bags are super nice but in general you will do better with more smaller bags, then fewer big bags. It’s easier to fill all the little gaps. Similarly, its easier to pack your water in something like dromedary bags, which can flex and bend to fit the shape of your hull. Plus when they are empty, they pack smaller, making it easier to pack every day. Great video though! Ironically I did a similar video, AND my dog was in the video as well, but your dog was way better behaved.
